چکیده
Materials and Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, prospective clinical study received institutional review board approval. After written informed consent was obtained, 210 patients with liver cancer were randomized into three groups of 70 patients. Group 1 received 20 mg of CRO, group 2 received 10 mg of CRO, and group 3 received a placebo at 1 hour before transarterial chemoembolization (T0) and 12 (T12) and 24 (T24) hours after T0. Pain intensity on a numeric rating scale, percentage of patients with each degree of pain, quality of life, adverse reactions, analgesic costs, and hospital stays were evaluated and compared among the three groups.

Oxycodone Controlled Release in Cancer Pain Management
Oral opioids are the treatment of choice for chronic cancer pain. Morphine is the strong opioid of choice for the treatment of moderate to severe cancer pain according to guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO). This recommendation by the WHO was derived from availability, familiarity to clinicians, established effectiveness, simplicity of administration, and relative inexpensive co...
متن کاملConversion to oral controlled-release oxycodone from intravenous opioid analgesic in the postoperative setting.
OBJECTIVE This study assessed conversion factors utilized by physicians to transfer postoperative patients from intravenous opioids to oral controlled-release (CR) oxycodone and the subsequent analgesic effectiveness. DESIGN This was a multicenter, open-label, usual-use study of 189 hospitalized postoperative patients receiving opioid (usually morphine) intravenous patient-controlled analgesi...
متن کاملA randomized trial to compare pain control using oral analgesia with epidural analgesia after cesarean section following combined spinal-epidural anesthesia.
This study aimed to evaluate whether combined oral oxycodone hydrochloride-controlled release tablets plus paracetamol and tramadol hydrochloride tablets are more effective than epidural analgesia for postoperative pain control and side effects after cesarean section. We randomly enrolled 60 patients scheduled for cesarean section into either: patient-controlled epidural analgesia with 0.1% rop...
متن کاملControlled-release oxycodone compared with controlled-release morphine in the treatment of cancer pain: a randomized, double-blind, parallel-group study.
Controlled-release oral formulations of oxycodone and morphine are both suitable analgesics for moderate to severe pain. They were compared in cancer-pain patients randomized to double-blind treatment with controlled-release oxycodone (n = 48) or controlled-release morphine (n = 52) every 12 h for up to 12 days. Stable analgesia was achieved by 83% of controlled-release oxycodone and 81% of con...
متن کاملPatient-reported utilization patterns of fentanyl transdermal system and oxycodone hydrochloride controlled-release among patients with chronic nonmalignant pain.
BACKGROUND Although use of long-acting opioid analgesics has increased for chronic nonmalignant pain management, little is known about patient-reported utilization patterns. OBJECTIVE To assess patient-reported utilization patterns of fentanyl transdermal system and oxycodone hydrochloride (HCl) controlled-release among patients with chronic nonmalignant pain and to compare these patterns to ...
